  • Chaplain (Maj. Ret.) Chris Cairns

    Interim Pastor

    chris@mmchurch.org

Chris was born into a military family at West Point, NY, but his father's Army career moved Chris to Columbus, GA in the 6th Grade, where he learned to incorporate “y’all” into his vocabulary. He now can’t imagine using any other word for the second person plural.

He met his wife, Elizabeth, a Chattanooga gal, while they were students at the University of the South at Sewanee. She teaches 11th grade English at BJHS in Madison, where their youngest, James (15), is a sophomore. Their other two children, Anne Elise (20), and Will (18), are in their sophomore and freshman years at Samford University.

Chris has been in full-time ministry for 28 years, with the last nearly 10 years serving as an Army Chaplain. He has been a youth minister, worship leader, church planter, church plant network leader, and director of outreach organizations and missions programs. He loves leading crack troops of Christians toward missionary hills that need to be taken.
